Ryan Clark seriously questions the Patriots Quarterback when faced with oncoming defenders.
Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Ryan Clark has come out and questioned the mental toughness of new England patriots Quarterback Tom Brady, as well as the fragility of their offensive weapons.
Clark was talking to CSNNE.com when he made the comments, including that Tom Brady see’s ghosts when under pressure.
“When Tom Brady gets pressure and when you’re man-to-man and bumping those guys and making it hard for him to throw, he sees ghosts.” Clark said.
“Even when guys aren’t around him, even when he’s not about to be sacked, when his clock goes off in his head that the ball should be out, we’ll see him duck, we’ll see him flinch.
“When you get Tom Brady doing that, the whole New England Patriots mystique goes away.”
The comments have been said by many different players over the course of Brady’s career, all believing they have found a way of getting into his head and finding a weakness.
While it is true that if Brady is not in a rhythm the entire offense does lose its versatility going forward, defences still need to find away to knock him out of sync which is easier said than done.
At 31, Clark has faced Brady enough times in his career to know just how tough it is to beat him, and despite the constant change in receivers that he goes under every year, the 36-year old constantly finds a way of making the team Super Bowl contenders.
With 26 fourth quarter comebacks and 37 game winning drives, there seems to be little doubt that in fact Brady does know how to handle pressure, and maybe this was just an attempt by Clark to gain a little media attention.
