The midfielder hasn’t been called up since the friendlies against Chelsea and Barcelona.
Mohd Badhri Radzi – better known as Piya – is refusing to kick up a fuss following his omission from the Malaysia squad to face China on September 10.
The 31-year-old midfielder was sensationally snubbed by national team head coach Datuk K. Rajagopal for the international friendly fixture that is set to be staged at the Tianhe Stadium next Tuesday.
Piya admits there was a tinge of disappointment when he realised he wasn’t selected for the 24-man party but respects Rajagopal’s decision and insists won’t give up hope on wearing the Malaysia jersey once again.
“For me, it is the best decision made by him in carrying the nation’s responsibility,” he conceded to Goal. “The coach has already has the list of players for training.
“I accept this decision with an open heart. Who knows I might receive call ups again in future.”
“I respect the decision made by the coach and let’s not make this thing complicated,” the Perlis FA new-boy added.
The last time Piya was called up to the Malaysia squad by Rajagopal he was unable to participate the scheduled matches due to injury and missed the chance to represent his country against European giants Chelsea and Barcelona.
