The Lilywhites keen to pip their North London rivals to the French ace.
Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to beat their arch rivals Arsenal to the signing of 27-year old French international striker Loic Remy this summer, reports the Mirror.
The Lilywhites’ new manager Mauricio Pochettino is working hard to land some of his premier transfer targets at White Hart Lane, and Remy is said to be high on his priority list.
Remy though wants to return to playing Champions League football, and therefore is believed to be waiting for the Gunners to come in for him after impressing on-loan at Newcastle United last season.
The Gunners’ boss Arsene Wenger too is believed to be interested in signing his compatriot on the back of the former Marseille man’s 14 goal season last time around, but the 64-year old is setting up deals for his more high profile signings before finalizing a move for Remy.
Spurs’ see Arsenal’s reluctance to commit as the perfect opportunity to swoop in for Remy, who has an £8 million release clause in his contract with newly promoted side QPR.
