North Londoners could lose their ace ‘keeper to PSG this summer.
Amidst reports that Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris may leave White Hart Lane for Paris Saint-Germain this summer, the North Londoners have lined up Newcastle United’s Tim Krul as a replacement, reports the Metro.
Spurs’ new boss Mauricio Pochettino is wasting no time in assembling his squad for next season, and wants Plan B in place if Lloris does get tempted by a move back to France.
Moreover, Tottenham also need to beef up their goalkeeping resources irrespective of Lloris’ call on his future as there is no long-term backup for the Frenchman.
Krul, 26, has been doing a splendid job for the Magpies in the last few seasons and would cost Spurs close to £10 million, if he indeed decides to push for a move to North London.
The Dutch international is also believed to be seriously considering a move out of Tyneside after finding himself behind Jasper Cillessen in the pecking order for Netherlands national team boss Louis Van Gaal, and believes that taking part in European football regularly could bolster his national team ambitions in the future.
