The Argentine is keen on Janmaat.
Tottenham Hotspur have joined in the race to sign 24-year old Feyenoord and Netherlands international right-back Daryl Janmaat, reports the Daily Mail.
The North Londoners’ new boss Mauricio Pochettino wants competition for places in the Spurs side, and believes that Janmaat could compete for a regular spot with England ace Kyle Walker.
Pochettino is plotting several other changes to Tottenham backline, but the full-back positions are believed to be a priority for the Argentine as he is also looking to sign another left-back.
The likes of Ryan Bertrand and Ben Davies are also being lined up by Pochettino, who is keen to make an instant impact after taking over the reins at the club last month.
Janmaat is also a prime target for Manchester United and Napoli though, and one will have to wait and see whether Pochettino would be able to sign the highly rated defender by beating the competition for him this summer.
