The former Germany international spent five hugely successful years in between the posts in north London between 2003 and 2008, during which time the reliable goalkeeper won both the Premier League title as part of the record-breaking Invincibles side of 2003-04 and then the FA Cup the following year.
And throughout his time at the club, as well as during his brief Gunners comeback in the 2010-11 campaign, the eccentric custodian was responsible for saving 73.2% of all the shots that came his way.
