AMR: Aaron Ramsey
Should Wenger name his strongest available side as we suspect, the Welshman gets the nod over Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain because he is a more prolific scorer, even from out wide.
His work-rate is also key in allowing Cazorla to function as a deep-lying playmaker.
AML: Mesut Ozil
Finished last season by producing glimpses of the form that made him one of the world’s most feared playmakers at Real Madrid, and these performances came in a central role.
Wenger may chose to use him as a No. 10 again this season; he may not. Regardless, there is room for he and Wilshere to interchange in what could be a very fluid and exciting front four.
ST: Theo Walcott
Walcott is in fine goalscoring form at the moment, having bagged five in his last three games, and might be given an opportunity to play in his preferred central role on Saturday.
Danny Welbeck is sidelined with a knee problem which will rule him out of Arsenal’s Premier League opener against West Ham United [Daily Express]. Olivier Giroud can have a run out against Wolfsburg.
So, here is our XI in visual form. Could it be the same team which faces Chelsea at Wembley next weekend, depending on the fitness of Sanchez?
