GK: Simon Mignolet
The one thing that Rodgers probably shouldn’t do is rotate his defence and goalkeeper too much as that will ultimately leave them having to adjust again ahead of Sunday’s match with Norwich City.
DF: Nathaniel Clyne
The more minutes the better for Clyne as he continues to settle into life as Liverpool’s first-choice right back.
DF: Martin Skrtel
If Dejan Lovren is to be dropped, and that is an option given the club’s depth at centre-half, Rodgers shouldn’t risk changing too much and Skrtel will be a commanding presence for him.
DF: Mamadou Sakho
Lovren has disappointed so far this season, so Sakho should get an opportunity to impress and will have experience of facing Bordeaux previously from his Paris Saint-Germain days.
DF: Alberto Moreno
Joe Gomez has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, but Moreno could do with a confidence boost by starting at left-back, and in turn it could put the youngster under pressure moving forward.
