2) Chelsea
As seen above, Chelsea have secured a superb signing in Cesc Fabregas, another player allowed to leave by Barcelona this summer, who has arrived at Stamford Bridge in a deal worth roughly £30m. As well as hurting their rivals Arsenal by bringing their former star and captain back to the Premier League, the Blues have grabbed themselves a bargain with the addition of the Spaniard, who should make a great like-for-like replacement for Frank Lampard for many years to come.
Elsewhere, Jose Mourinho may have also solved his side’s problems upfront with the £32m signing of Diego Costa from Atletico Madrid. One of the top scorers in Europe last season, the strong, powerful goalscorer looks like a great replacement for club legend Didier Drogba, and should provide that spark upfront that Chelsea lacked last season.
A left-back is still needed, but Filipe Luis is expected to join Costa from Atletico, and represents another great find in a key position, with Ashley Cole leaving big boots to be filled at the club, who currently look title favourites based on these superb additions.
Transfer window score: 8/10
