Everton are considering making a move for departing Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o…
Everton manager Roberto Martinez’s fetish for Chelsea forwards continues to grow. After using highly-rated youngster Romelu Lukaku for a season, the Spaniard is now believed to be keeping tabs on former Blues ace Samuel Eto’o, according to reports in Tuttomercatoweb.
The Cameroonian, who is currently a free agent, is believed to be on the wishlist of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger too, who is keen to sign him as short-term cover for Olivier Giroud. However, he may not be the first-choice striker for the Gunners, due to the presence of the Frenchman, who is known to have an excellent work rate. Thus the Toffees, who will be able to provide the player with guaranteed first team football, may prove to be more lucrative suitors for him.
On the other hand, a move to Goodison Park will not be able to provide the veteran with Champions League football, and that may be the only stumbling block in Martinez’s pursuit of him.
