Leicester City are reportedly in negotiations with Jeffrey Schlupp over a new contract as they try to fend off interest from both Arsenal and Aston Villa.
The 22-year-old impressed in his first season in the Premier League and was named Young Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year after helping the Foxes escape the drop.
His performances have apparently caught the eye of several of Leicester’s top-flight rivals and speculation last week claimed that title-chasing Arsenal were preparing a £5m bid.

But the Leicester Mercury understands that manager Nigel Pearson is intent on keeping the Ghana international and that the two parties are in talks over offering him improved terms.
Schlupp, whose ability to play at either left-back or left-wing makes him a valuable asset for Pearson, only signed a new three-year deal last July and is happy to stay at the King Power Stadium.
