Sergio Aguero won the Premier League Golden Boot last season, scoring 26 goals to see off competition from Tottenham Hotspur wonderkid Harry Kane and Chelsea beast Diego Costa.
But who will take home the prize at the end of the 2015-16 campaign? Here’s what the fanatix team reckon…
Ashley Attlee says: Sergio Aguero
No matter how Manchester City do, the Argentine is always there or thereabouts come the end of the season. He is unquestionably the best striker in the league in my opinion, and if he can stay fit for the majority of the campaign then there’s no one who can rival him.
Mark Brus says: Wayne Rooney
Have a sneaky feeling about Rooney, who will play up front more this season in an excellent Man Utd team. Diego Costa and Sergio Aguero are maybe the favourites, but are both injury prone and therefore risky bets.
Mohamuud Jama says: Kun Aguero
Simply the best striker in the Premier League. Head and shoulders above the rest. Seems to have overcome his fitness issues and will single-handedly keep Man City in the title race.
Max Miller says: Sergio Aguero
Diego Costa’s hamstrings mean Aguero should be able to do it again.
Glen Harrington says: Sergio Aguero
When was the last time he didn’t win it? If he could actually stay fit for the whole season he’ll be scoring 30 plus.
Jonathan Machlin says: Harry Kane
The Tottenham striker will take another huge leap and establish himself as the most dangerous scoring threat in the entire EPL.
Steven Green says: Sergio Aguero
Providing he stays fit, he’ll fire City into contention for the title all by himself.
Jordan Chamberlain says: Sergio Aguero
Because, you know, he’s the best goalscorer in England by a country mile. Even if he misses ten games, as he invariably does, he’ll still top it.
Andy Morris says: Diego Costa
Not quite the best striker in the league, but, playing as the lone frontman ahead of three brilliant attacking midfielders, Costa will get bags of changes to score. This – and his finishing ability – with see the Spaniard fill his boots.
