Tony Pulis, Crystal Palace
On the subject of the Eagles’ win at Goodison, it is a great way to talk about what Pulis has done at Selhurst Park since taking over from Ian Holloway.
Having earned promotion from the Championship via the playoffs Palace were the favourites to go down this season and a poor start confirmed those feelings.
Holloway left after a string of bad results and not many were inspired when recently sacked Stoke City boss Pulis took over.
Yet that triumph against Everton was their 10th win in 21 matches since the Welshman took charge and takes them to 40 points – effectively confirming their survival with four games to spare.
Getting the best out of players such as Jason Puncheon, Joel Ward and Mile Jedinak has also been a bonus and Pulis is an outside shot to be named Manager of the Year.
