– Current Premier League table toppers Liverpool and Arsenal have not kept the ball nearly as well as they did last season, but have traded goals for possession this term.
– Manchester City’s new boss Manuel Pellegrini has implemented a passing style of football with his new side, that has worked at home, but occasionally struggled away from the Etihad.
– Swansea and Southampton are two of the smaller Premier League clubs, but insist on playing a passing style of possession football.
– Unsurprisingly, long ball teams like West Ham, Aston Villa, and Sunderland sit low down in this table, but clubs like Everton and Stoke City have clearly implemented a new brand of football under their respective managers; and have both kept the ball for at least 50% of matches.
