There is just over a week until the start of the new Premier League campaign, and all 20 clubs have been busy preparing with a series of pre-season friendlies.
But who is in the best form heading into their opening game?
Well, talkSPORT have calculated what the table would look like if pre-season matches counted for points. Warning, there are a few surprises…
20. Tottenham Hotspur – P1 L1 F1 A2 GD-1 Pts0
Spurs lost their only official pre-season game to date last night as they went down 2-1 to the MLS All-Stars. They still have Real Madrid and possibly Bayern Munich on their calendar too.
19. Chelsea – P3 W0 D2 L1 F5 A7 GD-2 Pts2
The regular-season champions are shockingly in the pre-season relegation zone. They have yet to win any of their three matches in normal time, although they did beat Paris Saint-Germain on penalties.
18. Crystal Palace – P3 W1 D0 L2 F4 A4 GD0 Pts3
Alan Pardew may have secured the coup of Yohan Cabaye, but he is finding his first pre-season in charge at Palace to be a tough one. They have only beaten South African minnows Supersport United to date.
17. Sunderland – P5 W2 D0 L3 F7 A9 GD-2 Pts6
The Black Cats lost to Sacramento Republic and Pachuca on their tour of America, although Jermain Defoe did manage to rub salt into the Toronto FC wounds by bagging twice in a win over his former club.
