Watford 2-1 Southampton
Southampton were in action against Midtjylland on Thursday night, so expect the famous Europa League curse to strike at Vicarage Road on Sunday. The Saints used a strong XI in their 1-1 draw with the Danish champions, so fatigue is likely to play its part. Furthermore, let’s not forget that this game is not all about Southampton. Watford have begun Premier League life with two decent draws – against Everton and West Brom – so they are more than capable of taking down Ronald Koeman weary travellers.
Arsenal 2-0 Liverpool
Liverpool took a tonking at the Emirates Stadium last season, losing 4-1 in April, but, as their back-to-back clean sheets demonstrate, they are much more resilient these days. That said, Arsenal – with Alexis Sanchez approaching full fitness – will prove too strong.
