Football fans are about to be treated to a rare four-day Premier League weekend, with games being staged on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Manchester United travel to Aston Villa tonight to kick off the festivities. We have predicted the outcome of that game right here, as well as the results of the other nine matches taking place in matchweek 2 of the 2015-16 BPL season…
Aston Villa 1-1 Manchester United
United are unbeaten in league games at Villa Park since 1995, but tonight’s match could be a very even contest. Both sides began the season with 1-0 wins, so will come into the fixture with momentum behind them. Both teams have strengthened in defence over the summer, so it should be a tight affair, but there is enough attacking talent on either side to warrant a score draw.
Southampton 4-2 Everton
The Toffees are no longer a rock-solid defensive outfit, like they were for many years under David Moyes. Roberto Martinez’s side leak goals these days. They managed to avoid an opening-day embarrassment by netting a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Watford, but Southampton, who also drew 2-2 – at Newcastle – last weekend, will not be so forgiving at St Mary’s.
