Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev was a relatively popular transfer target throughout the summer, as he drew particular attention from Liverpool and Arsenal.
According to the Daily Star, the Russian international also drew attention from Everton, who allegedly made a loan bid for the player on deadline day.
Cheryshev ultimately stayed at the Bernabeu, as no team was able to get a deal over the line.
Liverpool reportedly offered Real Madrid £22m bid for Cheryshev in July, but the Spanish club refused to budge on their valuation.
Cheryshev has spent previous seasons with other teams on loan deals, including Sevilla and Villarreal.
The 24-year-old winger proved to be a moderately solid scorer last season, as he came up with four goals in 26 La Liga appearances for the Yellow Submarines.
However, he will be virtually impossible for any team to buy unless Real lower their valuation – they have included a £147m buy-out clause in his contract.
