Find out who made it into the Premier League’s team of the week!
This weekend saw some surprising, and outstanding, results in the Premier League, and with that came some stand out performances. With Leicester staging a dramatic fightback against United, and West Ham besting Liverpool, not to mention Danny Welbeck scoring against Villa, it is safe to say that this could be the most varied team of the week yet.

Gk: Wojciech Szczesny – Arsenal
The Gunners survived an early onslaught from a spirited, yet virus ridden Villa side and his early save from Ciaran Clark set the tone for what was an eventually comprehensive Arsenal performance. Channeling the spirit on Peter Schmeichel, the Pole made himself big to block the Irishman’s diving hearer before clearing the ball to safety.
RB: Nathaniel Clyne – Southampton
The England hopeful has been putting in strong performances for a while now and was again at the heart of all the good work that the Saints did on the weekend and was heavily involved in Victor Wanyama’s excellent finish. Roy Hodgson must surely be watching.
CB: Winston Reid – West Ham
Setting the Hammers off with an early goal, the New Zealand defender directed play so well as well as keeping the likes of Mario Balotelli and Raheem Sterling on lockdown. It’s easy to see why Arsene Wenger had been so interested in him over the summer.
CB: Wes Morgan – Leicester City
Morgan may have been a part of a defence that conceded three goals on Sunday, but for a player that was in the Championship last year to help limit a trio of Robin Van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Radamel Falcao whilst his side went up the other end to score five is impressive. Luckily for him he won;t be facing such a daunting task every week.
LB: Kieran Gibbs – Arsenal
A welcome return for the England star, he put in a professional performance that was as adventurous as it was efficient.
