The players that have impressed in the English top tier.
There were some big results in the Premier League this weekend, as leaders Liverpool lost at home, whilst Arsenal and Manchester City secured dominant wins.
Therefore fanatix has picked out the Team of the Week.
GK – David Marshall: The goalkeeper was in superb form for the Blue Birds and did not deserve to be on the losing side after keeping Tottenham Hotspur at bay for 93 minutes.
RB – Pablo Zabaleta: A great performance from the Argentina international as City dominated rivals Manchester United throughout the derby between the two sides.
LB – Leighton Baines: Another great display from the England international who netted two free-kicks to help Everton beat West Ham United 2-3 at Upton Park.
CB – Vincent Kompany: The Citizens captain looking utterly assured at the back for the 2012 English champions and showed the Red Devils just how to defend during a 4-1 mauling.
CB – Dejan Lovren: Not only did the centre-back stifle a Liverpool defence that was unbeaten up until this point, but also scored the only goal as Southampton ran out winners.
CM – Gary Medel: The Cardiff record signing was living up to the fee in the clash with Tottenham, as the Chilean was industrious and domineering in the centre of the field. Like Marshall did not deserve to lose.
CM – Yaya Toure: The ever consistent City midfielder put in another brilliant performance for the home side and even got on the score-sheet against United.
RM – Morgan Amalfitano: Marseille loaned Amalfitano to West Bromwich Albion on transfer deadline day and after making the midfielder’s debut against Fulham last weekend, the 28-year-old went one step further this week with a goal and a assist against Sunderland.
LM – Mesut Ozil: Another fine performance from the German who set-up all three of Arsenal’s goals in a solid 3-1 win over Stoke City.
ST – Sergio Aguero: This is the fourth City player on the list as the Citizens enjoyed the best display of the weekend and Aguero netted twice in the triumph over the Red Devils.
ST – Loic Remy: The Frenchman’s showing was the only real positive for Newcastle United, as the Magpies lost at home to Hull City but Remy scored twice in brilliant fashion.
