Arsenal players feature heavily after 3-1 victory away at Fulham…
GK) Ben Foster – West Brom
West Brom have their on form goalkeeper to thank after coming away from Goodison Park with a 0-0 draw. Foster made seven saves against the Toffees – and will be knocking on Roy Hodgson’s door for an England spot the way Joe Hart is playing at the moment.
DR) Branislav Ivanovic – Chelsea
A Jose Mourinho player if there ever was one – Ivanovic is quick, extremely powerful – and incomparably solid at the back. Unarguably one of the first names on the team sheet for the Portuguese boss.
DC) Kolo Toure – Liverpool
Toure is quickly looking like an absolutely outstanding free transfer signing by the Reds. Two clean sheets and two wins so far see Brendan Rodgers’ men at the top of the league table. Dealt with the threat of Christian Benteke brilliantly.
DC) Bacary Sagna – Arsenal
The Frenchman played at centre-half due to Lorient Koscielny’s suspension, and looked remarkably composed throughout the easy 3-1 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage. Arsene Wenger will be delighted has has such a cool and capable deputy.
DL) Maynor Figeuroa – Hull City
Figueroa was defensively outstanding for the Premier League new boys in their crucial home victory against Norwich at the weekend. The 30-year-old Honduran also has a wicked left-foot – and supplied crosses into the box on a regular basis.
MC) Etienne Capoue – Tottenham
The huge Frenchman is looking like a great signing for Andre Villas-Boas’ Spurs team. Unearthly powerful, and with an engine to match any other player in the country – Capoue looks perfectly suited to the Premier League.
MC) Aaron Ramsey – Arsenal
Ramsey showed everyone at the weekend just why Wenger puts so much faith in him. The talented midfielder played intricate through balls through to Podolski and Giroud almost at will – and liked up fantastically with Spanish midfield partner Santi Cazorla.
MC) Michael Carrick – Manchester United
Sat and ticked over United’s midfield against Chelsea perfectly. With each passing year, Carrick seems to be getting better and better – and provided United’s forwards with an outstanding base from which they failed to build upon.
FC) Frazier Campbell – Cardiff City
The England man bagged a brilliant brace in Premier League new boys Cardiff’s fantastic win over title hopefuls City. At Sunderland, Campbell bagged three goals in three seasons, but has already scored nine in 14 for the Welsh side.
FC) Lukas Podolski – Arsenal
A brace for Arsenal’s 111 cap German legend. The way Podolski and Giroud are playing at the moment – you wonder if the Gunners even need the ‘world-class’ striker they have so actively targeted.
FC) Daniel Sturridge – Liverpool
The Liverpool and England man is turning into quite some player. Bagged the winner in a crucial away win at Villa – beating a player and the goalkeeper before improvising brilliantly to poke the ball into the net. Helped out defensively in the second half when Liverpool were under the cosh, too.
