The best of the best from the English top tier.
Well it’s seven games down now in the 2013/14 Premier League and things are really starting to hot up, as both Manchester clubs are back to winning ways and Tottenham Hotspur were stunned.
Heading into the international break, here is the last Team of the Week for two weeks.
GK – Artur Boruc: The Saints goalkeeper had a fine performance against Swansea City and kept the likes of Michu and Wilfried Bony at bay with some great saves.
RB – Sascha Riether: In what was a poor attacking display from Fulham, Riether put in a great showing at right-back and made two goal line clearances.
LB – Luis Enrique: It was an all-round display from the Spaniard, defending well for the Reds and also setting up two goals.
CB – Winston Reid: The New Zealand international scored West Ham United’s first goal in a 0-3 rout of Spurs and defended resolutely.
CB – Curtis Davies: Once mocked the centre-back is proving everyone wrong now at Hull City and has been performing brilliantly all season.
RM – Adnan Januzaj: Manchester United manager David Moyes handed the youngster his first start and Januzaj repaid the faith with two fine goals.
LM – David Silva: It was a superb display from Silva in attack and the Spain international helped Manchester City bounce back after a disappointing defeat in the Champions League midweek.
CM – Victor Wanyama: The Saints midfielder was instrumental in the south coast side beating Swansea and was somewhat unlucky to have a goal disallowed.
CM – Yaya Toure: Looked out of sorts against Bayern Munich on Wednesday, but the Ivorian was back to his best in a dominant win over Everton.
ST – Loic Remy: The Frenchman may be the only player director of football Joe Kinnear brought in but what a signing, as Remy took the striker’s league goal tally to five with another brace.
ST – Sergio Aguero: The 24-year-old was also on fine form as City brushed the Toffees aside and basically scored twice – although the second was given as a Tim Howard own goal.
