Five strikers who have begun the Premier League season in sterling style…
There has been a glut of in form strikers so far this season,
A small number of dedicated strikers who have hit the ground running when it comes to goal-scoring, fanatix takes a look at five of the strikers who have started the 2013/14 Premier League in the best possible form.
Daniel Sturridge- Liverpool
The England striker has struggled with injury this season, resulting in him missing the international games against Moldova and Ukraine. Even with the injuries, he has been at the heart of Liverpool’s great start to the season, scoring each goal in a series of 1-0 wins against Stoke, Aston Villa and most impressively Manchester United.
Christian Benteke- Aston Villa
The Belgian striker, much like his national side, has come on in leaps and bounds recently. He scored 23 goals in an impressive debut season for Aston Villa last year and thanks to a double against Arsenal on the first day of the season, he already has four goals to his name.
Olivier Giroud- Arsenal
The Frenchman suffered a knee injury during the Gunners victory over Sunderland, but before that was in sparkling form with four goals in as many matches. The arrival of Ozil from Real Madrid looks to have suited the striker’s needs even more.
Robin Van Persie- Manchester United
Since moving to Man United, the Dutchman has been in fine form with 28 goals in 40 games. He has already notched up four goals this season, including a brace against Swansea on the first game of the season.
Frazier Campbell- Cardiff City
The former Manchester United man looks more at home at Cardiff than he ever did at Old Trafford, or Sunderland. The Bluebirds have made an impressive start to the Premier League – recording a win over Manchester City and a draw against Everton. It was Campbell’s two late goals that ensured the Welsh side triumphed over Pelligrini’s star studded squad.
