New York Giants rookie WR Odell Beckham will be in the 2015 Pro Bowl after it was announced that he would replace an injured Calvin Johnson.
Beckham, the Giants’ star rookie receiver, was added to the Pro Bowl roster, the NFL announced Wednesday, replacing Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson, who will not play because of an undisclosed injury.
The 22-year-old Beckham had a sensational first professional season, hauling in 91 passes for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in just 12 games – all Giants rookie receiving records. In December, he caught 43 passes for 606 yards and seven TDs.
The 13th pick in the 2014 NFL draft, Beckham is considered a near-lock for NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year after his dominant season – he would be the first member of the New York Giants to win the prestigious award.
