Uruguayan international was expected to clinch a move this week.
PSG boss Laurent Blanc is confident that Napoli striker Edinson Cavani will complete his move to the French capital next week.
The 26-year-old was supposedly set to be officially unveiled by the French champions earlier this week, but the move has been temporarily delayed.
It is understood that PSG have agreed to pay the Partenopei his €63m release clause fee, and it just a matter of time before he completes a move to Paris after having also already agreed on personal terms.
While there are suggestions that the move may have hit a bump, thus alerting the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City, Blanc isn’t too worried about the situation and believes that the deal will be completed next week.
“I hope there are no problems,” he told reporters as reported by football-italia.net.. “But at the moment it is useless to talk about the future if Cavani is not here yet.
“I expect the player to be ours, but we will see what happens and then review it from there.”
Meanwhile, with Blanc having talked up the potential of a Zlatan Ibrahimovic-Cavani pairing up-front next season, speculation continues to claim that the Swede is still a target for Real Madrid this summer.
With Carlo Ancelotti departing for Spain Ibrahimovic was reportedly unimpressed by the appointment of Blanc and favoured a move back to La Liga to join the Italian in Madrid.
However, PSG hope that the arrival of further big names this summer will change his mind with Cavani still the priority.
