Brazilian defender could be set for a switch to Paris this summer.
PSG are reportedly moving closer to meeting Roma’s demands for defensive starlet Marquinhos, according to reports in Italy.
The 19-year-old centre-back has been at the centre of intense speculation over the last few weeks, with both PSG and Barcelona interested in acquiring him this summer.
However, up until now the Giallorossi have not been willing to negotiate for one of their most prized assets, especially considering his performances last season.
The Brazilian starlet broke into the first-team last year and became a vital part of the club’s progress, as a result it is unexpected that they will be willing to see him leave ahead of the new campaign.
Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped PSG from stepping up their bid to sign him, with Il Messaggero reporting that they will increase their original bid of €25m.
That offer was immediately rejected according to the media outlet, but as reported by football-italia.net, it is expected that Roma may be willing to talk if the French giants increase their bid to €30m.
If the youngster does seal a move to the French capital, it is expected to clear the path for Thiago Silva to make a move to Barcelona.
It is no secret that the Spanish champions would like to sign the Brazilian international, with the player himself also hinting at a preference of securing a move to the Catalan giants.
With Marquinhos tipped for a very bright future, it may be an astute move from new boss Laurent Blanc, who also expects to see Edinson Cavani join the club next week.
