Parisians want to add more firepower to their attack next campaign.
Big-spending Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain are keen to sign unsettled Manchester United front man Wayne Rooney for £40 million this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.
The England international’s future with the Premier League champions is still very much open to debate after it was revealed that the 27-year-old had asked previous United manager Sir Alex Ferguson for a transfer away from the north west last month.
And now it appears as though the recently-crowned French champions are desperate to add the 27-year-old to their attacking line-up for next season when the transfer window reopens for business on 1 June.
Rooney has just enjoyed a fairly successful campaign in front of goal for United, who recorded their 20th top-flight title and 13th Premier League crown in what was Ferguson’s last season at the club.
The striker managed to net 12 goals in 26 Premier League outings for the Red Devils, as well as 16 strikes in 36 matches in all competitions, and it is that kind of form in front of goal that the mega-rich Parisians are hoping to bring to the Parc des Princes.
