PSG have made contact with Tottenham over forward Gareth Bale, according to Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri.
The Daily Mirror reported on Monday that the Ligue 1 champions are set to bid £85m for the Wales international as part of their attempt to lure Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas to the Parc des Princes.
The Parisiens’ are seeking a replacement for Real Madrid-bound head-coach Carlo Ancelotti and are thought to have installed the 35-year-old as their top choice.
According to the Guardian, Spurs are to be confident of keeping Villas-Boas at White Hart Lane but PSG believe that Bale’s capture would prove decisive in persuading the Portuguese to move to the French capital, particularly after the player spoke of his admiration for the former Chelsea boss.
Villas-Boas has publicly insisted that Bale will not be leaving the club this summer but Real Madrid have made no secret of their desire to sign the 23-year-old, who bagged 21 league goals last season and was named PFA Player and Young Player of the Year, plus Football Writers’ Player of the Year.
But the Spurs boss is yet to comment on his own future, amid reports that PSG spent the weekend talking with his representatives…
