The creative midfielder has struggled to settle in the North West, with a burglary at his home in January reportedly the final straw.
He has not been helped by a series of poor performances since Christmas which culminated in a shambolic red card in the FA Cup against Arsenal, and he has only scored one goal since getting three in his first five appearances for the club.
United are now ready to cut their losses and let him leave, potentially in a bid to make room for one of Real Madrid stars – either Gareth Bale or former player Cristiano Ronaldo.
It thought Barcelona would rival PSG for his signature, but the Parisian club’s willingness to offer Edison Cavani as part of the deal could swing the talks in their favour.
