Paris Saint-Germain look set to revive their interest in Chelsea star Eden Hazard after failing in their efforts to sign Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid, according to CaughtOffside.
The Belgian international has been linked with PSG and other top clubs in the past after establishing himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe during his time at Stamford Bridge, and could be a good alternative to the Argentine star.
With PSG concerned about Financial Fair Play laws, they have seemingly backed out of a big-money deal for Di Maria, whom they have deemed too expensive, but may now try their luck with a £50m opening bid for Hazard instead.
This would make the 23-year-old the second big name to move from Stamford Bridge to the Parc des Princes this summer, following in the footsteps of Brazilian defender David Luiz, who also moved for the same fee this pre-season.
Hazard would no doubt represent a major loss for the club, however, and is likely to be essential to Jose Mourinho’s plans this season, unlike Luiz and other departing stars such as Romelu Lukaku and Demba Ba.
