The French giants are one of the richest football clubs in the world and now want to use that money on signing a player who has been one of the finest of his generation.
The Portuguese international has scored a sensational 61 goals in all competitions this term, surpassing his previous best tally, but is thought to want out of the Bernabeu.
Ronaldo’s old club Man United had emerged as contenders to re-sign him in this summer’s transfer window, but according to Spanish publication Marca, PSG may now be favourites.
It remains to be seen if United could compete with an £88m bid, though they would dearly love to bring the 30-year-old back to Old Trafford, with the player himself also speaking fondly of his time with the club.
