Cavani ready to bid farewell to Naples as he nears Ligue 1 switch.
PSG are reportedly set to announce the signing of Napoli striker Edinson Cavani on Wednesday at the latest according to reports in France.
It is understood that there is an agreement over the transfer fee, with the French champions set to pay the striker’s €63m release clause fee with additional bonuses that could see it rise to €64m, while Cavani has already agreed to personal terms.
According to L’Equipe, the announcement is imminent, although provided there are some small delays then the signing will be completed by Wednesday at the latest.
The 26-year-old is set to put pen to paper on a five-year deal worth €10m per season, and will bid farewell to Napoli after helping fire them into the Champions League with a second-placed finish in Serie A last season.
The Uruguayan international is expected to link up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic next season, with new coach Laurent Blanc already talking up their compatibility as they will undoubtedly be a force both domestically and in Europe.
It brings to an end a transfer saga that has run all summer with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid all interested in the prolific striker.
Nevertheless, PSG were the only club to meet Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis’ asking price, and combined with their ability to offer Cavani attractive terms on his contract, it appears as though it is just a matter of time before he will be unveiled by the Parisians.
