Parisiens keen to lure Spurs manager to the Parc des Princes.
PSG have stepped up their pursuit of Tottenham head-coach Andre Villas-Boas after making contact with the Portuguese’s agent, reports the Guardian.
Villas-Boas is currently on holiday but the Ligue 1 champions have received no information to suggest the 35-year-old is not interested in the succeeding Carlo Ancelotti, who is expected to join Real Madrid in the next week.
The French club are said to have prioritised Villas-Boas after growing frustrated in their attempts to lure Guus Hiddink from Anzhi Makhachkala.
Spurs are desperate to hold on to Villas-Boas, who has two years remaining on his current deal in north London, but he reportedly has a £10m release clause, which could be comfortably met by mega-rich PSG.
It is unknown if the young manager would be interested in swapping White Hart Lane for the Parc des Princes but there is plenty in Paris to attract Villas-Boas, including a bottomless pit of wealth and a burning ambition to be crowned champions of Europe as well as France.
There has even been suggestions that PSG will attempt to lure Spurs’ superstar Gareth Bale to the club should the Portuguese decided to take up an offer.
In a turbulent managerial career, Villas-Boas has never spent more than one season at a club and has expressed a desire to finish what he has started at Spurs.
Some clarity is expected within a week but if the former Chelsea boss were to leave White Hart Lane, it would be a major blow to Spurs, particularly because the club are on the verge of appointing Franco Baldini as technical director on Villas-Boas’ recommendation.
