Both Liverpool and Tottenham have been linked with moves for the Argentine international since the summer and he could now be subject to a bidding war between the clubs in the new year.
Lavezzi has just 18-months left on his current deal in Paris, and has been told that he will not be receiving a new deal to prolong his stay, meaning he could be available on the cheap, with the French champions having to slash their asking price before he is allowed to leave on a free transfer.
He had initially been valued at around £17m, though both Premier League sides, as well as Inter Milan, could go in with low offers in the hope of landing themselves a bargain.
