After being penalised for not adhering to the regulations last season, the French champions will no longer have a limit on their spending and will be able to increase the size of their Champions League squad.
While they are expected to move Zlatan Ibrahimovic out the exit door this summer, that could in turn lead to a new look to the team with Manchester United star Angel Di Maria also linked with a switch.
However, it is Ronaldo who will undoubtedly be the biggest signing of the summer if there is truth behind the speculation reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, as PSG will look to take advantage of the uncertainty at the club after Carlo Ancelotti’s dismissal and Rafa Benitez’s arrival.
Paul Pogba has also been linked with a move to the French capital ahead of next season, but the Juventus midfielder isn’t likely to move back to his homeland even with Euro 2016 ahead next summer.
As a result, Di Maria and Ronaldo could well be at the top of the wishlist for PSG and it remains to be seen if they can offer a financial package and a vision to the Portuguese superstar that will convince him to leave Madrid behind.
