Los Blancos wants Italian to replace Jose Mourinho at the Santiago Bernabeu.
PSG have warned Real Madrid against making a move for Carlo Ancelotti as a replacement for current head-coach Jose Mourinho.
The La Liga giants are expected to announce Mourinho’s departure in a press conference on Monday evening and have already approached PSG about Ancelotti.
The Italian has told PSG’s president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he wants to move to the Santiago Bernabeu but Qatari has insisted Ancelotti must remain at the Parc des Princes for the remainder of his current contract which expires next summer.
“Whatever it costs us, we’ll respect the contract. There will be no tug-of-war,” Al-Khelaïfi told the ‘BeIN Sport’ TV channel, which he is also the director of.
“We’ve spoken and Ancelotti has asked to go to Real Madrid. I have been very clear with the coach,” added Al-Khelaïfi.
“I told him that he has a contract for one more year, so he can’t just leave. The problem is with him not with us. It’s normal to expect a contract to be respected.”
“In March there was a proposal to extend his contract, but since then Real Madrid has come knocking”, the PSG president revealed.
“I think that he has a pre-contract with Real Madrid. I don’t think that Real would dare to sign a contract with Carlo. If they do then this would cause a legal dispute.”
Mourinho is widely expected to join Chelsea this summer, after failing to win any silverware in a disappointing season at Real Madrid.
Ancelotti, meanwhile, guided PSG to their first Ligue 1 title since 1994 and reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
