The Ligue 1 champions want to sign the in-form Magpies man, and could offer former St James’ Park hero Yohan Cabaye to the club in return this winter.
Cabaye has also attracted interest from Arsenal recently, though Sissoko’s impressive run of form has also seen him linked with a number of top clubs.
Arsenal are in desperate need of signings in midfield, but PSG now look the favourites to tie up a tempting swap deal for Newcastle.
