According to the Manchester Evening News, Toon Gerbrands has confirmed that both Depay and fellow young gun Georgino Wijnaldum could be on their way through the exit door over the summer.
“Tottenham were willing to offer €20m for Depay. We decided to keep hold of him,” he said.
“But he has the option to leave after this season.”
“I think these two players are very attractive to a lot of clubs in Europe,” Gerbrands continued. “So far, no one has come forward with an offer but I expect we will come under great pressure.”
Depay is already well known to Louis Van Gaal, after the pair worked effectively well together during the World Cup, and though the 20-year-old only played a bit part role at the tournament, he still managed to catch the eye with two goals.
