QB Jameis Winston’s attorney says he is not ready for NFL off the field
This alleged incident occurred on Dec. 7, 2012, but Winston maintains that he did not rape Kinsman. Florida State also refused to discipline him on these charges.
Winston’s sexual assault accusation had become a big story in the media in 2013, when he became the starting quarterback for Florida State.
He managed to brush off the distractions and win the Heisman Trophy and lead the Seminoles to an undefeated season and national championship win.
After two seasons at Florida State, Winston has entered the NFL Draft and is expected to go first overall to the quarterback-needy Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
However, Winston’s draft stock may take a hit if these allegations start to become accompanied by evidence and ultimately put Winston in danger of punishment by law.
