Hoops eyeing Adebayor and Harry Kane.
QPR are interested in signing TWO strikers on loan from Tottenham but R’s boss Harry Redknapp has admitted his former club are unlikely to allow both players to leave.
After claiming last week that Emmanuel Adebayor would make a ‘great’ loan signing, Redknapp says a deal to take Harry Kane, 20, from White Hart Lane on a temporary basis could still happen.
The Hoops’ deadline day move for the England under-21 international stalled after Andy Johnson’s return to Crystal Palace collapsed.
“It may still happen, I was going to take Harry on the deadline when AJ [Andy Johnson] looked like he was going to Crystal Palace,” Redknapp told the Kilburn Times.
“Could it still happen? It depends, if [Emmanuel] Adebayor is not in their squad then they only have two strikers, [Jermain] Defoe and [Roberto] Soldado.
“Harry is third choice, but if they feel he needs games then they might do. It certainly didn’t do Andros [Townsend] any harm last year.”
Adebayor has reportedly asked for a £1m pay-off to leave Tottenham and it seems likely that the former Arsenal striker has played his last game for the club, after head-coach Andre Villas-Boas ordered the Togolese to train with the reserves until further notice.
The 29-year-old rejected the chance to leave Spurs this summer and has stressed his belief that he can usurp Soldado and Defoe to become the club’s premier forward.
QPR have already signed Tom Carroll and Benoit Assou-Ekotto on season-long loan deals from Spurs but are allowed a maximum of four loans from a single club, so it is still possible that both Adebayor and Kane could be reunited with Redknapp at Loftus Road.
