Midfielder to remain at Loftus Road.
QPR midfielder Esteban Granero has committed his future to the relegated club and says he is willing to play in the Championship next season.
The Spanish midfielder joined the Hoops from Real Madrid in a £9m deal last summer but has managed just one goal and one assist in a miserable campaign.
Granero, 25, is reportedly on a hefty wage in west London and there has been speculation that he could be moved on the summer as QPR tighten the purse strings ahead of life in the Championship.
“I signed my contract here for four years,” Granero is quoted as saying by The Sun.
“I was not thinking about going to the Championship when I joined but that is the reality now. I like life in London. We now prepare for life next season. The club will have to decide, not me.
“Many things have happened during the season and we have not been able to get over them.
“It is hard to analyse. It is not just one thing that has gone wrong. It is many things together.”
Granero reserved special praise for the club’s fans, who have remained loyal despite a watching the team flounder in the bottom three for the majority of the campaign.
“We hope we learn from that and next season we do it another way. It was difficult for us but let’s finish the season properly for the fans.
“They have been outstanding for us this season and we have felt them behind us from the beginning.”
