Harry Redknapp’s Championship side have ended their pursuit of Colombian striker Duvan Zupata…
QPR will go all out to sign Tottenham forward Jermain Defoe, after ending their chase for 22-year-old Colombian forward Duvan Zupata, report the Daily Star.
Harry Redknapp’s relegated team have turned their attentions to the England striker after deciding to end their pursuit of the Estudiantes forward.
Italian side Napoli are set to win the race for Zupata, despite already bringing in Gonzalo Huguain from Real Madrid this summer. The Serie A club will pay £6.4m for his services, while QPR will turn closer to home to squad reinforcements.
Redknapp managed Defoe during his stint as Spurs boss, and is keen to reunite with the hitman. Defoe could struggle for game time at White Harte Lane after Spurs signed Spanish striker Roberto Soldado for a club record £26m.
The 30-year-old forward has bagged 210 career goals, and would be an impressive scoop for a side in England’s second tier. The striker only scored 11 league goals last year, and Spurs boss Andre Villa-Boas could be ready to move him on.
