Playmaker to remain at Loftus Road.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp has been handed a major boost after key midfielder Adel Taarabt was left out of Morocco’s squad for the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa.
Morocco coach Rachid Taoussi decided not to select the Fes-born player, who has 15 caps and 4 goals for his country.
Redknapp had asked Taarabt to stay in England to help the club’s fight against relegation but the 23-year-old had confirmed that he would play in the competition if selected.
The former Tottenham playmaker will now be available for his club’s games against West Ham, Swansea, Manchester city and Norwich.
While Taarabt misses out on the January 19 – February 10 competition two Premier League players who made Taoussi’s 24-player list were Oussama Assaidi of Liverpool and Aston Villa’s Karim El Ahmadi.
