Redknapp feels SPL-based player can fire Londoners back to the top flight next season.
Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers are interested in signing in-demand Celtic front man Gary Hooper this summer, reports the Daily Mail.
The English striker has been with the Scottish Premier League champions for the past three seasons now, having originally signed for the Glasgow giants from Scunthorpe United for just £2.4 million in July 2010.
And in the intervening three-year period, the 25-year-old has proved himself to be a centre forward with a real eye for goal, having netted 82 goals in just 137 appearances for Celtic in all competitions during that time, including an equally impressive 63 strikes in only 95 league outings, form in front of goal that has also seen the player on the fringes of the Three Lions squad.
As a result, QPR head coach Harry Redknapp is now keen to bring the attacker south of the border this summer to help fire the west London club back to the Premier League at the very first time of asking next season, although the Londoners will need to double their initial offer of £4m if they still want to bring Hooper to Loftus Road that is.
