Queensland forward Corey Parker has today been ruled out of State of Origin II with a facial fracture.
Scans on Wednesday revealed that Parker suffered a fractured eye socket during Brisbane’s NRL win over the Canberra Raiders on Monday.
News Corp are reporting that Gold Coast’s Dave Taylor has been called into the squad for the first time since being dropped for Origin III in 2012.
Parker joins Josh Papalii and Cooper Cronk as injury withdrawals from the squad, while Daly Cherry-Evans (knee), Greg Inglis (ankle) and Billy Slater (shoulder) are racing against the clock to be fit in time for next week’s vital clash at ANZ Stadium.
