The Colombian international linked up with the Premier League giants on a season long loan at the beginning of the campaign, but has so far struggled to find the net on a regular basis or establish himself as a first team regular.
He had been due to pen a permanent deal to stay at Old Trafford upon completion of the loan agreement, though following his poor run of form his future has since been cast into doubt.
The L’Equipe report states that United will still have to shell out €55m to secure his signature beyond the summer, while the current loan agreement still stands at around €15m
It has therefore been suggested that is is “not impossible” that the Colombian will head back to his parent club in two months time.
