Colombia marksman will decide on his future this summer.
One-time Newcastle United front man Faustino Asprilla believes that coveted Atletico de Madrid attacker Radamel Falcao should join Premier League champions Manchester United at the end of the season, says the Daily Mail.
The Colombia international is currently one of European football’s most in-demand strikers, having netted an incredible 26 goals in just 30 La Liga appearances for the Spanish giants this campaign.
And with 67 strikes in only 86 matches in all competitions since arriving in the Spanish capital from FC Porto two years ago, the 27-year-old has one of the most eye-catching goalscoring records at present on the Continent.
However, with his employers in Spain valuing Falcao at £46 million, which is the cost of the buy-out clause in his contract in Madrid, any potential suitors will need to break the bank this summer in order to land the forward.
But Falcao’s compatriot says that Sir Alex Ferguson should take the risk and make the player the Red Devils’ record buy.
“We were talking and he asked me my opinion on who he should join. He knows that every big club in the world wants him. He is not a player motivated by money – what he wants is somewhere that his family will be happy and where he will have success,” Asprilla is quoted as saying in the Mail.
“With teams like Real Madrid, PSG, Manchester City they have good times then they have bad times – that is why I told him he must choose Manchester United. Every season they are challenging – and if he wants success that is where I have told him to go.
“Also they don’t have all the behaviour away from the field – with changing coaches every season. They are steady in all that they do – and a well run club at every level. He is a real family guy – and Radamel will appreciate that and the way that Sir Alex Ferguson protects his players like family.”
