The 29-year-old was brought to Man United on a deal that was reportedly worth £265,000 per week.
Falcao could have been re-signed by Man United to a deal worth £43.2m, but manager Louis van Gaal reportedly decided against bringing him back.
This does not come as a surprise at all since Falcao struggled in his only season at Man United, as he only scored four goals despite playing in 26 games.
Falcao is expected to return to Monaco, whom he had played with before signing a loan deal with Man United.
Monaco had signed Falcao for £50m in 2013, but he told the Daily Mail that he is open to taking a pay cut to increase his chances of staying in the Premier League.
Although his future does not lie with Manchester United, it will be interesting to see whether Falcao can find work with a contender again.
