Spaniard has yet to make decision on future, but reports line up transfer targets.
Chelsea interim coach Rafa Benitez is set to raid the Premier League should he be handed the job at Napoli, according to reports in both the British and Italian media.
The Spanish tactician is widely expected to join the Serie A giants when his contract with Chelsea officially comes to an end, although Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis back-tracked from his announcement that Benitez would replace Walter Mazzarri.
“I cannot officially announce it until he is released from the club he is currently contracted with. I cannot tell you who it is because of UEFA regulations As soon as the club release him, I will announce it,” he told the media.
It is widely expected that the former Inter boss will take over in Naples, and with Champions League football assured for next season, it is likely that he will be backed in the transfer market as he hopes to build on the fine work already done at the club.
There is still no confirmation that striker Edinson Cavani will remain at the club beyond the summer, but Benitez has set his sights on the Premier League to fill gaps elsewhere in the squad.
Amongst his potential signings include Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva, whom Benitez managed during his stint at Anfield, as well as Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen who enjoyed a solid first season in England, according to football-italia.net.
There are also continuing reports in Italy that Benitez is keen to bring Fernando Torres with him if Cavani leaves, but with no confirmation over his own future, it remains to be seen what dealings he will make in the transfer market this summer.
