Chelsea have joined Manchester City in the race for wantaway Liverpool star Raheem Sterling, according to reports.

City reportedly had a £40m bid for the England international turned down by the Reds, who value the 20-year-old at a staggering £50m.
According to Daily Star, Chelsea are have now also joined the race for Sterling’s signature, however the Blues have also been put off by Liverpool’s valuation of the former Queens Park Rangers prodigy.
Chelsea are preparing to make a move for Sterling, however Blues bosses are not prepared to pay over £40m.
The report suggests that Chelsea are hoping the lure of life in London will get Sterling across to Stamford Bridge, and Liverpool are now believed to be willing to part ways with the gifted youngster with the club reportedly agreeing to terms with Hoffenheim forward Roberto Firmino.
Daily Star reports Chelsea are also willing to provide Sterling with a massive pay increase after Liverpool offered a £100k-a-week five-year deal.
